Ashley Colley is an Associate Producer in the SportsCenter Enhancement Unit (SCEU) at ESPN. Here she produces a variety of projects including features, conversations, essays, obituaries and more.
Since joining ESPN in June 2015, Ashley has worked on numerous different shows and projects including SportsCenter Coast to Coast and NFL Countdown. She was brought on to be one of the show staff production assistants when Coast to Coast launched in February 2016. While on the show for 2.5 years, she learned how to cut inbumps, create and help produce interviews with coaches, athletes and celebrity guests and go experience in the field at Clemson before the 2017 National Championship game and at the 2017 NFL Draft. This experience helped her get promoted to content associate and eventually earn a spot on NFL Countdown for the 2018-19 season. As a part of the NFL crew, Ashley was pushed as a producer to create even more exciting elements . She also produced the “You Got Mossed” segment for Pro Football Hall of Fame wide receiver Randy Moss on several occasions, including a memorable moment where Drew Brees’ son Bowen was featured and the Saints quarterback let the media know he was watching at home when it happened on the show.
Ashley’s began her career as a multimedia journalist at KOMU-TV 8, the NBC affiliate in Columbia, Missouri. There, she gained nearly six years of experience working in a newsroom, five of which she has served as a news and sports producer. While there, she covered events such as Missouri’s conference realignment, the NCAA’s case against Frank Haith and the investigation into the alleged sexual assault of former MU swimmer Sasha Menu Courey. She has experience field producing events such as the NCAA Tournament, the SEC Championship and the World Series. Ashley served as the coordinating field producer and helped create a 90-minute pre-game show for the 2014 Cotton Bowl and the 2015 Citrus Bowl. She also has experience producing newscasts with breaking news, elections and severe weather while working with student reporters. Some of the topics she has covered while at KOMU include live coverage from tornado stricken Joplin, Missouri, and the events that occurred in Ferguson, Missouri.
Ashley also served as the producer for This Week in Mizzou Football with Gary Pinkel and This Week in Mizzou Basketball with Frank Haith for three years. The 30-minute show was produced on a weekly basis and aligned with the team’s schedules to highlight past games and look forward to the remaining schedule. She worked with Learfield Sports and the Mizzou Athletic Department to produce the show before production was transferred to the University’s production team, Mizzou Network, in 2014.
