Producing

I am currently a production assistant a ESPN, but before I was a news and sports producer for KOMU-TV in Columbia, Missouri. I have 5+ years of producing experience on multiple platforms such as television, online and print journalism.

My main focus is in sports journalism, where I have covered events such as the World Series, SEC Media Days and the NCAA Tournament either in the field or back at the station. I also have been asked to edit multiple videos from our custom open for the Sunday Sports Show, Year in Review video and other videos that capture the success of certain teams.

I also served as a producer/reporter for a syndication program called This Week in Mizzou Football with Gary Pinkel and This Week in Mizzou Basketball with Frank Haith for 3 years. This program aired locally on KOMU and then regionally on the networks of Fox Sports Networks in at least six states. The shows revolve around each team’s respective schedules and air on a weekly basis. With the launch of the SEC Network, the University of Missouri’s Mizzou Network took over production for the 2014-15 school year. You can check out some of these shows here: Syndication

One of the biggest events I have covered is Missouri’s transition from the Big 12 Conference to the Southeastern Conference. I tracked the story for from the time for a month and produced our 2-hour, breaking news coverage with the live conference affiliation announcement. Samples of this work can be seen here: Missouri’s Move to the SEC.

I also have experience in news producing, where I have helped cover topics such as the Joplin Tornado, the 2012 Election and the shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri. A sample of my work can be seen here: News Producing.
